Little Rock Rangers announces that Will Montgomery has decided to leave his role as Head Coach after much consideration and mutual consent. “I want to thank Jonathan Wardlaw and the Wardlaw Family for the opportunity given to me since the inception of the men’s team. Also, I want to thank all of you who have supported me over the years. I’m proud to have served the LR Ranger Herd, and leave with overall record of 33-29-15. It has been a wonderful journey. I plan on focusing more on family, and pursing new opportunities in soccer, which involves coaching, coaching education, and player development.”

Montgomery will always be a legend, being the first ever Manager for the club; it is with regret that we report this news. While we had a stretch this season in which we had results that were disappointing, they should not hide all the work he has done over the past six years to build the foundations for long-term success at this forever growing club. The contributions of building this club from a NPSL side in 2016, to National Playoffs in 2018, to USL League Two in 2021, all while winning a multitude of matches, awards, and trophies with the club.

Will leaves with our deepest thanks for his efforts as Head Coach and our very best wishes for his future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his history as a Coach, but as a great man and mentor for our Senior Team and Academy players. Obviously, he will forever be welcome at War Memorial as part of the Rangers family.

Montgomery will remain on staff as the 2007 boys head coach for the club.

This coming Saturday Coach Will Montgomery and Asst. Coach Kevin Tello will not be present due to already planned absences. Goal Keeper Coach Chris Lawson will be handling all coaching duties for the match against LA Krewe.

The club looks to immediately begin a search for a new Head Coach ahead of next season.
